Wimbledon 2025 has not only delivered thrilling tennis action but has also drawn several global sporting icons. On Friday, it was the turn of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to steal the spotlight with a picture that quickly went viral across social media.
Tendulkar posted a photo of himself joined by two tennis greats — Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg. He posted the picture with a cheeky caption that read: “What’s sweeter than strawberries & cream at Wimbledon? Finding yourself in the middle of a Grand Slam sandwich.
” The light-hearted post delighted fans, combining the world's of tennis and cricket, with a rare meeting of legends from two sports.
Federer, who retired in 2022, has eight men's singles Wimbledon titles to his name. Swedish tennis great Bjorn Borg on the other hand, has clinched the title as SW19 five times.

His presence at Wimbledon followed another special moment in London just a day prior. On Thursday, July 10, Tendulkar was honoured at Lord’s with a larger-than-life portrait unveiled at the MCC Museum. He also rang the iconic five-minute bell at the historic venue for the very first time, adding another chapter to his deep connection with the ‘Home of Cricket’.
With the women’s singles final set and the men’s semi-finals underway, Wimbledon 2025 continues to be a magnet for legends from across sports. And this time, it was a cricketing icon sharing centre stage with two Grand Slam giants. Besides Sachin, Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri and Rishabh Pant were also in attendance over the last few days. English cricket icons James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Joe Root were also at the Grand Slam tournament.
