SA20 2026 League

Tristan Stubbs, Keshav Maharaj, David Miller, Rashid Khan, Faf du Plessis and Aiden Markram will headline the leadership groups as the fourth season of the SA20 gets underway from December 26. In the absence of the traditional Boxing Day Test and a home Test series, Cricket South Africa (CSA) will be hoping that the SA20’s timing — coming within a fortnight of the T20 World Cup — helps players put the finishing touches to their preparations.

Of the six names mentioned above, all of whom assembled at a hotel in Cape Town this past week, only one will be taking on full-time captaincy duties for the first time. Markram’s move to Durban’s Super Giants for R14 million has left a significant leadership void at two-time SA20 champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape, forcing the franchise into a new era at the helm.
