Spinners pull India back before late damage - India Women failed to find an early breakthrough, but the spinners brought them right back into the game during the middle overs, keeping the runs in check while also picking up key wickets. Sree Charani was the standout in that phase with 2/22, while Deepti Sharma also chipped in with a couple, though she was taken apart in the final over. Renuka Singh was the pick of the bowlers with 2/21, and overall, the bowling unit has done its job. From control to collapse to a strong finish - South Africa Women once again started well, racking up 49 runs in the Powerplay. Sune Luus struggled to get going, but Laura Wolvaardt looked fluent and in complete control yet again. The pair added 75 runs before a sudden collapse saw them slip from 75/1 to 124/6. However, the skipper held one end firmly and kept the scoreboard moving. Sinalo Jafta then came in and played a few lusty blows, while Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on 92 off 56, as they smashed 29 runs in the final two overs to push the total past the 150-run mark.
Game in the balance - A good battle between bat and ball on a surface that's on the slower side and offering some assistance to the spinners. South Africa Women have posted a competitive total, but considering the start they had, they would have hoped for more. India Women pulled things back beautifully through the middle overs, conceding just 28 runs between overs 10 to 15, showing great control and discipline. However, Deepti Sharma did concede 16 runs in the final over, which has shifted the momentum slightly back in South Africa's favour and added a late twist to this contest.
