SRH vs DC Highlights , IPL 2025: Match abandoned due to wet outfield

SRH vs DC Highlights , IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad's Indian Premier League playoff hopes ended after their match against Delhi Capitals was abandoned due to heavy rain at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday. SRH's pace attack, led by Pat Cummins, restricted DC to 133/7 in the first innings before rain forced officials to call off the game at 11:10 pm local time, with both teams sharing a point each.

IPL Points Table | IPL Schedule

Delhi Capitals remained in contention for a top-four spot with 13 points from 11 games, while SRH's campaign effectively ended with just seven points from their 11 matches.

The abandonment marked a disappointing season for SRH, who failed to replicate their successful batting performance from 2024 when they reached the final.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had already been eliminated from the competition prior to this match.

Before the rain interruption, SRH displayed impressive bowling performance and appeared on course for their fourth victory of the season until large puddles formed on the outfield.

DC's batting collapse began early after being put in to bat, with the team struggling at 29 for five in 7.1 overs as Cummins wreaked havoc.

Cummins struck immediately, dismissing Karun Nair caught behind on the first ball of the match with a good length delivery outside off-stump.

Faf du Plessis became Cummins' second victim in the following over, attempting a pull shot while charging down the pitch.

Abhishek Porel fell as Cummins' third wicket after mistiming a flick shot.

Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat continued the bowling dominance by removing Axar Patel and KL Rahul respectively, with Rahul edging to keeper Ishan Kishan while attempting an uppish drive.

DC's innings found stability through Tristian Stubbs and impact player Ashutosh Sharma, who both scored 41 runs each. Their partnership yielded 66 runs from 45 balls, helping DC reach a respectable total.

Sharma provided momentum by hitting two sixes against leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari in the 15th over.

Stubbs, despite looking less comfortable at the crease, supported Sharma effectively and managed four boundaries, including one off the final delivery of the innings.

The rain-affected match denied SRH the opportunity to chase the modest target, forcing them to settle for a shared point and ending their playoff aspirations.

Pat Cummins to Karun Nair, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! What a delivery to begin with from the SRH skipper! The crowd erupts at Uppal as DC lose their first wicket in the very first delivery! A proper Test match length from Cummins, hard length, outside off, slightly nipping away from the batter, with a good bit of bounce on it. IPL Live: Axar Patel: Delhi’s captain, finisher, and x-factor
Axar Patel’s emergence as a leader has been one of the season’s more underrated narratives. Whether it's batting in the top five, managing spinners, or guiding the younger players, he’s been crucial. His recent hand injury may worry DC fans, but his cameo against KKR showed resilience. A fully fit Axar will be pivotal in both strategy and execution.

IPL Live Score: Mitchell Starc: The SRH nightmare returns
Starc has taken 10 wickets in just 4 matches against SRH since 2024. His raw pace and ability to strike early makes him a nightmare for SRH’s top order. With Travis Head already vulnerable to him (2 dismissals in 7 balls), expect Starc to take the new ball with purpose and venom.

SRH vs DC Live: Playoff race
With just six points from ten games, SRH’s qualification hopes are nearly extinguished. But a win here keeps them alive — mathematically. More importantly, it would inject belief into a faltering side and spoil Delhi’s campaign. For a team led by Pat Cummins, expect pride to be on the line, even if playoffs feel like a distant dream.

Today IPL Match Live: KL Rahul vs Pat Cummins
KL Rahul’s calm, tactical nous meets Pat Cummins’ aggressive, instinctive leadership. Rahul has been the backbone of Delhi’s batting while Cummins continues to shoulder responsibility for a shaky SRH side. With the margin for error shrinking, the decisions these two make — from team selection to bowling changes — could define the outcome.
