If there’s one thing that makes Grand Theft Auto absolutely legendary, it’s the maps. From neon-lit streets to sprawling countryside, every GTA map is a whole world waiting to be explored (or, you know, wreak havoc in). But which one is truly the best?

5. Liberty City (GTA III)

GTA III’s Liberty City was where it all started. This was the first 3D GTA world; it may feel basic now, but back in 2001, this was groundbreaking. The rain-soaked streets, the mob-filled alleyways, and the chaotic energy—it was all there. It’s rough around the edges, but it deserves respect.

4. Liberty City (GTA IV)

Liberty City in GTA IV was Rockstar flexing their world-building skills. It’s dark, dense, and feels ridiculously real. Every street has a story, every alleyway feels lived in, and the rain-soaked roads make for some legendary car chases. It may not be the biggest, but it’s got soul. GTA IV took it to another level with insane detail, but let’s be real—navigating those narrow streets? Absolute nightmare.

3. Vice City (GTA: Vice City)

Neon lights, palm trees, and 80s vibes—Vice City is straight-up legendary. Inspired by Miami, it’s got beaches, boats, and a killer soundtrack that screams Scarface. It might not be the biggest map, but it feels the most alive. The sunset drives? The ocean breeze? The wild, pastel-colored crime sprees? Yeah, nothing quite hits like Vice City. If you love fast cars, speedboats, and nightclubs, this is your paradise.

2. San Andreas (GTA: San Andreas)

GTA: San Andreas didn’t just give us a map—it gave us three cities and a full countryside to roam. One minute, you’re in the gang-filled streets of Los Santos; next, you’re speeding through the desert to Las Venturas. It was revolutionary, even if those blocky graphics scream 2004.

GTA V’s world is HUGE. From the glitzy streets of Vinewood to the backroads of Sandy Shores, it’s got everything—mountains, beaches, forests, freeways, and a ridiculous amount of detail. You can skydive from Mount Chiliad, chill in the desert, or get lost in the city’s never-ending streets. It’s still one of the best open-world maps ever made, even ten years later. And with GTA Online keeping it alive, this one ain’t going anywhere.

Every GTA map has its charm, but GTA V’s Los Santos takes the crown. It’s got size, variety, and enough chaos to keep you entertained for years. But hey, with GTA VI on the way, who knows? Maybe we’re about to get a new GOAT.
