Everything new announced in the Sony State of Play (February 2026)

Sony's State of Play for February 2026 was an incredible showcase, and the event offered several major announcements and exciting reveals. The event featured presentations from PlayStation Studios, as well as third-party partners and publishers such as Konami and Capcom. The presentation ended with the surprise announcement of a God of War Trilogy Remake and the release of God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer that is now available on the PS5.

God of War trilogy remake

• Santa Monica Studio announced a remake of the original God of War trilogy, and the same is currently in early development. The studio additionally partnered with Mega Cat Studios and released God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer.

Kena sequel confirmed

• Another major announcement was Ember Lab revealing Kena: Scars of Kosmora for PS5 and PC. It is all set to be released in 2026, and the sequel will feature a wider world called Kosmora with bigger boss battles.

Konami direct highlights

• Konami had its own direct within the State of Play. As part of it, they ended up announcing a new Castlevania game in collaboration with Motion Twin (developers of Dead Cells). Additionally, they unveiled the anime-infused RPG Rev.Noir and the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as part of MGS Master Collection Vol. 2.

Ghost of Yotei DLC

Ghost of Yotei Legends is going to be a cooperative multiplayer update, and it launches on March 10. The DLC will mark the game's 1.5 update and it will feature distinct character classes and three mission types.
