Genshin Impact 5.8 patch update, new characters, new story and more

Genshin Impact's patch 5.8 introduces Ineffa, a unique Electro polearm wielder, alongside the Fractured Halo polearm and Flame-Forged Insight claymore. The Sunspray Summer Resort event brings exclusive rewards and mini-games, while Yelan receives a new outfit. Players can anticipate the Archon Quest, Song of the Welkin Moon: Prelude "The Journey Home", and a summer-themed story quest.

With great vivacity, patch 5.8 of Genshin Impact will be the sweep that brought out the last of the arc and new, electrifying characters, heated summer events, and an emotional major storyline. Teyvat is basking again in the glories of adventure and it is more than ever to explore.

Ineffa, The Robotic Thunderstorm, Enters the Battle

The newest addition to the roster by HoYoverse is Ineffa, the 5-star Electro polearm wielder dubbed "Boom Boom Thunderwave." While Ineffa is no usual support, this time it is a sentient robot stitched out of bits and pieces from world cultures, its Source Core very much pulsing with ancient energy.In line with her unique elements is the Lunar-Charged synergy. Upon activation of her Elemental Skill, the Optical Flow Shield is put up and Birgitta, the mechanical fellow, is summoned to harass enemies mercilessly. Birgitta is sent into the fray charging up in the ranks of Electro enemies in AoE damage while raising the duration of her onslaught by means of the Elemental Burst of Ineffa. Her unique shield mechanics make Ineffa a good teammate for elemental reaction teams with combos that will stack Electro off-field damage.

New Weapons: A Surge of Power and Style

Patch 5.8 further offers additional tools with which to shape how the team plays:

Fractured Halo (5★ Polearm): A perfect compliment to Ineffa, this polearm increases ATK after skill use and applies the Electrifying Edict buff to increase Lunar-Charged DMG for all allies nearby. Event Wish; the best choice for shield-based teams.
Flame-Forged Insight (4★ Claymore): Tailored for reaction-based gameplay, this weapon restores energy and increases Elemental Mastery upon triggering Electro-Charged or Bloom reactions, even off-field. Available only during the Sunspray Summer Resort event and comes with refinement materials right out of the box.

The Sunspray Summer Resort offers more than just fun scenery, it is your gateway to exclusive rewards, weapons, and lore. Think of mini-games, limited-time domains, and exploration galore collaborating in a tropical-themed festive world. This is one of the grandest summer events yet.

Archon Quest, Song of the Welkin Moon: Prelude "The Journey Home": Post-update, always available, this chapter deals in emotional reunions and readies the Traveler for the fiery lands of Natlan. Through the new "Focused Experience Mode," a player can now enjoy this chapter with improved pacing and reduced distractions.
Story Quest, Sunspray Summer Resort: Set against the backdrop of a vibrant summer event, this quest pairs heartwarming story moments with a generous splash of sunny exploration.
