UEFA EURO 2020, Portugal vs Germany Highlights: Germany beat Portugal 4-2 in six-goal thriller

Germany defeated Portugal 4-2 in Group F at Euro 2020 on Saturday to revive their hopes of reaching the last 16 and leave the reigning champions in danger of crashing out. Cristiano Ronaldo put Portugal ahead in Munich but own goals from Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro gave Germany the advantage before Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens struck in the second half to make it 4-1. Diogo Jota pulled a goal back for Portugal, who are level on three points with Germany and a point behind leaders France.

TEAM NEWS | Unchanged Portugal XI tonight
Reigning champions Portugal kept the faith by going with unchanged starting line-up for Saturday's crunch Euro 2020 clash in Munich. Portugal boss Fernando Santos named the same side which beat Hungary 3-0 in Budapest. Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored twice on Tuesday to become the all-time top scorer with 11 goals at five European Championships, leads Portugal's attack. With 106 goals in 176 games for Portugal, Ronaldo is three short of the all-time international record, set by Ali Daei who scored 109 goals for Iran between 1993 and 2006. Alongside him, Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva and Liverpool striker Diogo Jota offer plenty of firepower.

I don't watch videos of his 'best-of' clips. I've already played against him once or twice with Dortmund. He's still one of the best strikers in the world and has now scored two goals, so you have to be careful, but we're looking forward to playing against him.

Record-scorer Ronaldo yet to score against the Germans
The Portuguese superstar has now netted a record 11 goals at five European Championship finals after scoring twice in Portugal's 3-0 win over Hungary in Budapest. With 106 goals in 176 games for Portugal, he is three short of the all-time international record, set by Ali Daei who scored 109 goals for Iran between 1993 and 2006. The Juventus forward has never scored against Germany in four previous attempts, the most recent when Portugal were swept aside 4-0 at the 2014 World Cup. The Germans hope to deny him again at Munich's Allianz Arena.

Under pressure Germany face Ronaldo juggernaut
Germany will aim to shut down Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday with the hosts under pressure to beat holders Portugal in order to get their Euro 2020 campaign back on track. After losing their opening game 1-0 to France on Tuesday after a Mats Hummels own goal, Germany badly need a win in Group F - and to stop Ronaldo adding to his phenomenal goal tally.
