NEW DELHI: Hansraj College suffered a shock defeat 2-4 (1-1) in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports competition for College Boys, losing to Dyal Singh College in a penalty shootout on Monday.
Hansraj began on a strong note, taking the lead in the 10th minute through Tanmay Chopra. They were almost home when, against the flow of the game a goal was conceded by them in injury time.
Harish Rawat scored to take the contest to penalties.
Dyal converted thrice from the spot while a shell-shocked Hansraj could only score once.
In another match, Kirori Mal College scored a decisive 2-0 victory against Ramjas College. Tanveer Singh, adjudged the player of the match, scored in the 14th minute to give his side the lead while Robin Hooda made it safe by adding one more a couple of minutes before the final whistle.
The third clash of the day was declared a walkover in favour of SGTB Khalsa College as their opponents Shyam Lal College failed to turn up for the game.
