Formula E appoints Will Brown as Chief Commercial Officer; Jeff Dodds says, “He will play a critical role in shaping our next phase”

Formula E has announced the appointment of Will Brown as its Chief Commercial Officer, with him set to join office in July 2026. Brown will become part of the Executive Leadership Team and will report directly to Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds. He will be responsible for leading the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s global commercial strategy and will work towards accelerating the growth of its partnership ecosystem.

Who is incoming Formula E Chief Commercial Officer Will Brown?

Will Brown boasts a strong international track record across Europe and Asia, where he has built high-value global partnerships in complex markets. He is currently serving as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Motorsport at Legends Global.

Brown has delivered notable commercial growth across elite sports and entertainment properties, including Audi F1 and Real Madrid. He has also held senior roles in commercial strategy and partnerships at IRONMAN, Arsenal FC and Manchester United.

Will Brown expressed his excitement about joining Formula E as Chief Commercial Officer. Speaking in a statement, he said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Formula E at such a transformative time. The championship sits at a unique intersection of world-class sport, innovation and sustainability, creating a powerful platform for global brands.”

“There is a clear ambition to scale and evolve the commercial proposition, and I’m looking forward to working with Jeff and the team to unlock new opportunities and build on the championship’s strong global trajectory,” he added.

Brown’s appointment comes months after Michaella Snoeck joined Formula E as Chief Media Officer. His addition further strengthens the leadership team as the series continues to expand its commercial and media operations.

Jeff Dodds said he was delighted to welcome Brown to Formula E at such an important moment for the championship. “As we look ahead to the GEN4 era, we have taken the opportunity to evolve our commercial structure to ensure we are fully set up to capitalise on the significant global momentum behind the series,” he said.

Praising him further, Dodds added, “Will brings a rare combination of strategic clarity, international experience and a proven ability to deliver commercial growth at the highest level. He will play a critical role in shaping our next phase and further strengthening the value we create for partners, manufacturers and fans.”

Formula E Season 12 is currently six races in, with 11 more scheduled before the season finale in August. Rounds 7 and 8 will take place in Berlin on 2 and 3 May.
