Formula E is all set for the Miami E-Prix on Saturday, which will be held at a new circuit this yea, the Miami International Autodrome. Drivers will compete on the 2.32 km circuit, which offers ample overtaking opportunities along with 14 turns. The Round 3 race weekend also features a Rookie Free Practice (FP0) session on the schedule, allowing fresh talent to get their first taste of the GEN3 Evo cars. Here’s everything you need to know about the new circuit, which is part of the Hard Rock Stadium complex.

Take a closer look at the Miami International Autodrome circuit

Formula E shared a graphic video of the Miami International Autodrome circuit to give fans a closer look at the track layout, including the turns and the pit stop. It was shared on Instagram with the caption: “Introducing… the Miami International Autodrome.”Reacting to the circuit graphic, one fan wrote, “Such a nice circuit,” while another commented, “This is going to be mega.” When a fan recalled the previous Homestead-Miami Speedway, where the last Miami E-Prix was held, another explained, “This is a proper Formula E race track. Homestead is a proper NASCAR race track.”
A fan also suggested, “Would love to see them use one of the longer layouts when Gen4 comes out.”
The Miami International Autodrome becomes the 39th circuit to host a Formula E race. The inaugural Miami Formula E race was held at the Biscayne Bay Street Circuit in 2015, with Nico Prost emerging as the winner. The event made a comeback last year at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, where Pascal Wehrlein claimed victory. It now remains to be seen who will cross the finish line first at the new venue.

Pros and cons of the Miami E-Prix circuit

Drivers face the challenge of having limited track data to prepare for the race. However, teams will attempt to gather valuable information through their rookie drivers during the Rookie Free Practice session. Cupra Kiro driver Pepe Marti is the only driver taking part in Rookie Free Practice, as he still qualifies as a rookie.The Miami International Autodrome is located in Miami Gardens. It is a purpose-built temporary circuit designed around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.The Miami E-Prix weekend begins with Rookie Free Practice on Friday, followed by FP1 later in the day. FP2 and qualifying are scheduled for Saturday, before the Round 3 race gets underway at 2:05 p.m. local time (12:35 a.m. IST).
