Taylor Barnard had an impressive rookie season last year with NEOM McLaren and is now back racing in Formula E Season 12 with his new team, DS Penske. The 21-year-old is no longer the youngest Formula E driver after securing as many as five podiums and two pole positions last season. The Briton has now shared his best moments from 2025 as he looked back on his rookie campaign.
Taylor Barnard shares his best moments from 2025
Taylor Barnard shared a bunch of pictures from last year on Instagram and captioned them, “Best of 2025.” He paired the post with a saluting emoji.
Reacting to his post, one fan wrote, “From papaya to golden, you've achieved so much this year, Tay! Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Next year has amazing things in store for you as a driver and as a person. We are all so proud of you :)”
Another wrote, “It has been a year full of changes, from that farewell in July to a golden return in September. I hope that 2026 will be a year of new goals and new beginnings. My best wishes always.”
Taylor Barnard joins Maximilian Guenther at DS Penske
Taylor Barnard replaced Jean-Eric Vergne at DS Penske after his former team, NEOM McLaren, exited Formula E. He had a record-breaking rookie season with NEOM McLaren last year and has now joined Maximilian Guenther at DS Penske.
Barnard recently spoke about moving from NEOM McLaren to DS Penske in his second year as a full-time Formula E driver.
He told Sports Gazette, “This year, I don’t have the excuse of being a rookie. I don’t want to be making any mistakes. I was a little unlucky last year in some situations. So to put all of these things right, to put myself in a position where you cannot be unlucky, that’s definitely my goal. And if I cannot be the champion, I definitely want to be there at the end of the season in the top three, fighting for it.”
Barnard, 21, finished fourth in the Formula E World Championship last season with 112 points in the Drivers’ Standings. He bagged five podiums and two pole positions in his rookie season as a full-time NEOM McLaren driver.
His debut race with DS Penske didn’t end the way he wanted, as he finished 13th in the opening race.
