Valentina Shevchenko has once again spoken clearly about women in MMA, and this time she directly addressed comments made by Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC champion did not agree with his earlier views about women fighting, and she made it very simple, strength may differ, but skill does not. Khabib Nurmagomedov had earlier said that he feels it is “wild” to see women getting hit in fights. He also said that men and women should stick to traditional roles. His words quickly spread online and created strong reactions across the MMA world. Now, Shevchenko has responded again, this time in a direct and calm way on social media. She made it clear that while men may have more physical strength, that does not decide everything in a sport like MMA. Her response has once again brought attention to the growing space of women’s MMA and how athletes view equality inside the cage.

Valentina Shevchenko explains her stance after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s comments on women fighters

Valentina Shevchenko did not agree with Nurmagomedov’s earlier statements, and she explained her thoughts in a very direct way. She first pointed out that women have always handled difficult situations throughout history. She also said that being “strong” or “weak” is not just about gender, but also about how a person is raised and trained.
In her latest post on X, she wrote:“Does a man have an advantage in physical strength? Yes, he does. Does a man have an advantage in technique? No, he does not. Everything a person can learn is acquired equally.”She kept her message focused on learning and skill. According to her, technique in MMA is something anyone can build with training, no matter if they are male or female. She also added:“A slight natural advantage in physical strength in no way makes a person any more or less suited for practicing martial arts. MMA is the most balanced and modern discipline among all martial arts. Therefore, it is a discipline that both men and women should practice to the fullest! Depending entirely on their individual desires and pursuits!”Her words show that she sees MMA as a sport where effort, training, and mindset matter more than gender. She is not denying physical differences, but she is saying those differences should not stop anyone from competing. This exchange has once again started a bigger conversation in the MMA world. Many fans and fighters are now discussing where the sport stands when it comes to equality and respect for women fighters. Shevchenko’s message stays simple, anyone can learn, grow, and compete if they choose to.
