The NBA world is no stranger to scandals and controversies. Back in October 2025, a few prominent names were highlighted in the infamous betting scandal. Reportedly, the FBI arrested Chauncey Billups, Terry Rozier, and Damon Jones under the charges of money laundering and committing wire fraud.
According to the investigation by the FBI, it was found that the gambling operations were indirectly linked to La Cosa Nostra, Italian-American crime families based in New York City, making it one of the biggest betting scandals in the NBA.

The doping ban on Jannik Sinner diverted all eyes towards the inconsistencies in the tennis world. After facing a widespread backlash, Sinner even became a huge topic of discussion with respect to discrimination in punishment and as well as the duration of the anti-doping ban. Turkish Football Federation comes under the scanner for an Illegal Betting Scandal

In late 2025, the Turkish Football Federation was shaken to its core after its integrity was questioned worldwide. According to an internal audit by the Turkish Football Federation, there were multiple evidences pointing at illegal activities going on under the nose of the league. Reportedly, hundreds of officials and referees were involved in running the controversial betting scandal. The revelations even included referees placing the bets, biased officiating, and even roster changes. Multiple referees were shown the exit door after the betting scandal surfaced, and popular clubs, including Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, openly helped in the investigation. However, this is not the first time an entire year has been marked by bombshell revelations and massive controversies, as back in 2023 NFL made headlines after the league came under scrutiny due to illegal gambling activities. In the similar year, Los Angeles Dodgers’ superstar Shohei Ohtani after his name dragged into a gambling scam. Reportedly, millions of dollars in wagers were generated under the MLB icon’s name. Sports value hard work and dedication on the field and discipline beyond that.
