Jake Paul may be heading to Australia for one of the biggest events of his boxing career. While no fight has been finalized yet, his promotion team has confirmed that talks are underway about staging a major card in Australia, possibly in 2027. Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian revealed that discussions have already started with Australian broadcaster Fox Sports. The goal is to create an event that works for both Australian fans and the American television audience. If it happens on a Sunday in Australia, the fights would air on Saturday night in the United States, which is one of the biggest time slots in combat sports. The idea comes at an important time for Jake Paul. The American boxer is coming off the first stoppage loss of his professional career and is still working his way back after a serious injury. Even so, his team believes Australia has everything needed to host a blockbuster event.

Nakisa Bidarian points to Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm success as Jake Paul Australia talks continue

Explaining why Australia is being considered, Nakisa Bidarian pointed to the country’s long history of supporting major combat sports events. Speaking about the possibility, Bidarian said his team had already spoken with Fox Sports about finding a way to make the event happen. He added that a Sunday event in Australia leading into United States prime-time television would be the ideal setup.
Bidarian also highlighted the success of the 2015 fight between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm in Melbourne. That event attracted more than 50,000 fans and set a UFC live gate record at the time, despite Holly Holm’s shocking knockout victory over Ronda Rousey.“Because Australia’s sports market is the best in the world, pound for pound,” Bidarian said.“You look at Ronda versus Holly Holm; two ladies who had nothing to do with Australia and still hold the record for most tickets sold by women to a combat sports event.”The Australian connection goes beyond the venue itself. Most Valuable Promotions has several Australian fighters on its roster, including Cherneka Johnson, Ebonie Bridges and Queensland boxer Desley Robinson. Their presence could help build local interest if the event moves forward. The discussions also come after a difficult stretch for Jake Paul. The 28-year-old owns a 12-2 professional record but suffered a stoppage loss to Anthony Joshua in December 2025. Following the fight, Paul underwent surgery for a broken jaw, had titanium plates inserted and lost several teeth. He was also stripped of his WBA cruiserweight ranking in January. In an interview in May, Paul admitted his boxing future was “most definitely” uncertain. However, he later said he expected to be medically cleared for sparring within a few months, raising hopes of a return to the ring.
