Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua hits 33 million global viewers on Netflix
Most Valuable Promotions, led by Jake Paul and business partner Nakisa Bidarian, confirmed that the main event averaged 33 million Live+1 viewers around the world.
The fight aired live on Friday night and held steady numbers throughout the broadcast. The event also performed strongly beyond just viewership.
MVP said the fight ranked No. 1 on Netflix in 45 countries and placed inside the Top 10 in 91 countries overall. That made it one of the platform’s biggest sports streams of the year.
Social media reaction was just as loud. Netflix accounts only registered about 1.25 billion impressions over several platforms.
Showing how much internet buzz the event generated, the fight also rose to become X's most popular trending subject during fight night.
For comparison, Jake Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson in November 2024 pulled a much larger global audience, with MVP previously reporting 108 million viewers.
While the Joshua fight did not reach that level, executives still called the numbers a major success.
Speaking on Monday, Nakisa Bidarian said both Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua were paid
“fairly” for headlining the biggest sporting event on Netflix that night.
He did not reveal exact figures but made it clear both fighters were well compensated.
Bidarian also addressed Jake Paul’s condition after the fight. Paul suffered a broken jaw during the sixth-round knockout loss. Despite the injury, Bidarian said the night still brought
“wins” for Paul in terms of exposure, growth, and global reach.
The co-main event also drew strong interest. The title fight between Alycia Baumgardner and Leila Beaudoin attracted an estimated 15 million global viewers. MVP said that result showed growing interest in women’s boxing on major streaming platforms.
With strong numbers, a wide global reach, and nonstop online talk, MVP believes the event proved that boxing can still draw massive audiences in the streaming era.
