She officially announced her retirement in October 2025. Since then, Titmus has focused on spending time with her family. As the year comes to an end, Titmus reflected on her journey and the difficult emotions that came with saying goodbye to swimming.
In her message, she explained that for the first time since childhood, competition is no longer on her mind. She said she feels thankful that her move away from sport has been smooth overall. However, she admitted that small moments still bring emotional reactions. Saying goodbye to something that shaped her life was not easy. She described 2025 as a rewarding year and said she is excited to see what 2026 will bring. She also thanked her family, friends, and her boyfriend, Mack Powell, for their support.

She wrote that she had spent 18 years competing in the pool. Ten of those years were spent representing Australia on the world stage. She reminded herself that she competed at two Olympic Games and achieved victories beyond her childhood dreams. She spoke about the lifelong friendships she made and said she achieved more than she ever imagined. She expressed pride in everything she accomplished.
Titmus also acknowledged the people who supported her throughout her career. She mentioned her coaches, including one who played a very special role. She said every one of them helped shape her journey.
