Oksana Baiul responds after custody decision involving her daughter

At the start of January 2023, Oksana Baiul lost custody of her child, Sophia, and the court awarded custody of Sophia to Baiul’s ex-spouse, Carlo Farina. This court ruling was based on the divorce or separation agreement between Baiul and Farina, which includes provisions for Sophia to visit when Baiul and Farina are no longer together.

In a follow-up Instagram post, Oksana Baiul discussed her painful and emotionally taxing divorce and that she is an advocate for and protector of her daughter, believing that no one should take advantage of the public or make assumptions about Baiul’s life experiences. Baiul requests that people respect and grant her some privacy as she provides for her daughter’s needs.
