Young tennis talent Victoria Mboko is quickly becoming one of the most talked about names on the WTA Tour. The 19 year old Canadian has been enjoying a strong run at the BNP Paribas Open in 2026. Her performance has pushed her into a quarterfinal match against world number one Aryna Sabalenka. While fans are watching her powerful game on the court, many are also curious about the people guiding her behind the scenes.Mboko’s rise has not happened alone. Two experienced tennis figures are helping shape her career. Former French tennis star Nathalie Tauziat and Dutch tennis coach Noëlle van Lottum are the duo working closely with the young Canadian. Tauziat became Mboko’s main coach in November 2024 when the teenager was moving from junior events to the professional tour. Together with van Lottum, the pair have created a strong support system to guide Mboko through the tough transition into elite tennis.

Nathalie Tauziat brings decades of tennis experience to Mboko’s team. The French player competed on the professional tour from 1984 to 2003 and reached the world number three ranking in both singles and doubles.
One of the biggest moments of her career came at the 1998 Wimbledon Championships, where she finished as runner up in the singles event.Tauziat also played an important role in France’s victory at the 1997 Fed Cup. Across her career she collected 33 WTA titles, including eight singles titles and 25 doubles titles.After retiring from professional tennis, Tauziat moved into coaching. One of her most notable achievements came when she helped Marion Bartoli develop into a top player and later a Wimbledon champion. Now, she is focused on helping young players grow within Canada’s tennis system.Alongside Tauziat is Noëlle van Lottum, a former Dutch professional player who also had a successful career. Van Lottum reached the top 50 in the world rankings and won WTA titles in both singles and doubles before stepping into coaching roles.Today, van Lottum plays an important leadership role in Canadian tennis development while also supporting Mboko’s progress on tour. She has spoken about the environment they want to create for the young player.“When Victoria returned to Canada, our main goals were to provide an environment and culture that would help her succeed both on and off the court,” van Lottum said in a statement shared through the WTA. Van Lottum also revealed that Mboko often trained alongside another Canadian player.“Half the time, we paired her with another Canadian player, Kayla Cross. With Kayla ranked around 280 and Victoria at 250, it was a perfect setup for them to travel and grow together,” she explained.That direction is already paying off. In 2025, Mboko became famous after her National Bank Open Montreal victory over Coco Gauff.Victoria Mboko appears ready to confront some of the most famous women's tennis players with knowledgeable coaches nearby and confidence blossoming on the court.
