Winter Olympics 2026: Jake Paul’s fiance Jutta Leerdam’s Olympic suit draws huge auction interest after viral celebration

The Winter Olympics 2026 may be over for Dutch speed skating star Jutta Leerdam, but the spotlight is still very much on her. The 27-year-old Olympic champion is now making headlines for a different reason. The bright orange racing suit she wore during her gold medal win in Milan-Cortina is officially up for auction. And fans are already placing strong bids to own it. Leerdam won gold in the 1,000m and also claimed silver, becoming one of the most talked-about athletes of the Games.

After crossing the finish line, she unzipped her suit to cool down, revealing a white Nike sports bra underneath. The moment quickly went viral online. According to reports, Nike shared the image with its 298 million Instagram followers, which added even more attention to the scene. Soon after, discussions began about possible sponsorship earnings. However, the International Olympic Committee later confirmed she had not broken any advertising rules. Now, her race suit is being auctioned by the Netherlands Olympic team, with proceeds going back to local sports clubs.

The orange suit is currently displayed at the Staatsloterij TeamNL House in Milan. The online auction is set to close in eight days. As of Friday morning, bidding had already reached £2,448 (around $3,304).

Other Dutch athletes are also auctioning Olympic items. Jens van ’t Wout’s opening ceremony jacket has already raised £2,619 (around $3,527).

Funds from these auctions will support the local clubs where the athletes first trained. For example, Femke Kok is donating money from her suit auction to De Kluners Skating Training Club in Wijnjewoude.

There were early questions about whether Leerdam’s post-race moment could violate Olympic marketing rules. But Anne-Sophie Voumard, IOC marketing director, clarified the situation.

She said, “I’m not a figure skating expert, but I understand that opening one’s suit after a competition is normal for skaters. Especially since the suit is very tight. It’s common practice and not a marketing ploy.”



Still, Leerdam has faced criticism beyond the race. Former Dutch footballer Johan Derksen questioned her behavior before the Games.

Speaking to Dutch media, he said, “Her behavior is horrible to me, like that of a diva. If I were her coach, I wouldn’t tolerate that. Gradually the whole of the Netherlands is starting to get a bit fed up with her behavior.”

Some fans were also divided after she traveled to Italy on a private jet and skipped the Opening Ceremony. Leerdam chose to watch from her room while her teammates marched in the stadium.Even with the debate around her, one thing is clear. Interest in Jutta Leerdam remains strong and now, her Olympic suit is becoming part of that story.
