Livvy Dunne is stepping into something new, and fans are getting a close look at it. The former LSU gymnast is now filming the Baywatch reboot, and she just shared a behind-the-scenes moment from the set in Malibu. In her Instagram story, Dunne posted a selfie with actress Hassie Harrison, both wearing the classic red lifeguard swimsuits. She captioned it “Baewatch,” adding a playful touch that quickly caught attention online. This new show is already being talked about a lot. Some fans are excited to see fresh faces, while others are not sure about the reboot. Even with that noise, Dunne and the rest of the cast seem focused on their work as filming moves forward.

Livvy Dunne is not just making a small appearance. She has a recurring role as a junior lifeguard in the new Baywatch series. This is also her first time acting, which makes the moment even bigger for her. Alongside her are well-known names like Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, and Noah Beck. While filming in Malibu, the cast was seen shooting classic beach scenes. They wore the signature red outfits and practiced slow-motion runs into the ocean, just like the original show.
According to Page Six, the group also trained with real lifeguards at Venice Beach to learn proper techniques. This included ocean safety drills and rescue movements to make their roles look real.
Dunne and Brooks Nader were also seen laughing together during training. The two already knew each other from Sports Illustrated shoots, which made things more comfortable on set. A source close to the production told Page Six, “They’re really excited to be working together.”However, not everyone is impressed. When the cast list first came out, many people were surprised to see social media stars in key roles. After early photos and clips were released, some fans criticized the reboot. They said it feels too similar to the original and questioned if influencers can carry such a big show.Still, the project is moving ahead. In September, Fox confirmed a 12-episode order for the 2026 to 2027 season. The story will follow Hobie Buchannon as he becomes the new captain, continuing the legacy of his father Mitch Buchannon from the original series. For Livvy Dunne, this is a big career shift. She recently shared her thoughts, saying, “It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school. And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things.”She added, “Whether it’s gymnastics or acting in a movie or a TV show, I just think watching all your hard work pay off, whether it’s an individual thing or a group thing, I think it’s so cool.”
