Andrew Chafin got traded to Detroit Tigers for a minor league this season and the move has become a topic of discussion among the fans. They are quite divided over this development and all sorts of things are being said about Big Country, Chafin’s frequent moves from one club to another. His tryst with the Tigers is not new as he has played 105 games for the team so far. Here is how fans are taking the news.
Fans divided over Chafin’s joining the Detroit Tigers the third time
Chafin made his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014, and the team traded him to the Chicago Cubs in 2020. He returned to the Diamondbacks as a free agent in 2023 but only to get traded to Milwaukee that summer. Andrew Chafin has been signed by the Detroit Tigers for a minor league and Spring Training this season. The move brought him back to a familiar side but not before a gap of a season.
“Too bad he’s on the Tigers,” said a fan.
“Omg here we f**king go with this bullsh*t again,” commented another fan.
“Wonder who we'll trade him to this year. He'll be back next ST,” wrote another fan.
“Hopefully if he doesn't get the call up on a consistent basis, Eastbound & Down will get a reboot,” was another comment.
“How many teams is this for Chafin now? Relieved he'll finally get his baseball stationery!” added by another fan.
The comments refuse to buzz down as the veteran pitcher makes his way to the Tigers squad.
However, there are ardent supporters too. His supporters hope he will bring a perfect roar to the pitch this season and call the move quite awesome. Some anticipate Chafin merchandise on shelves to pick, given the way he is earning a place quite often in deadline trade.
The veteran 34-year-old Chafin has made 601 big league appearances over 11 seasons with 3.75 ERA. These appearances were for six teams. After Detroit, it is Arizona for which the veteran pitcher has played maximum times.
