The devastating accident claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close friends, personal trainer Kevin “Latz” Ayodele and long-time therapist Sina Ghami. Since then, the British star has focused on healing both mentally and physically. He recently shared photos on Snapchat showing the painful therapy sessions on his ribs. Despite the hardship, Joshua remains determined to return to boxing. His team is now eyeing a possible comeback later this year.

Anthony Joshua posted images of his ongoing rib treatment on social media. The pictures showed him receiving intense physical therapy as part of his recovery plan. Along with the photos, he shared a powerful message about resilience and strength. He wrote, difficult experiences make a person realize how strong they truly are.

The crash happened in Nigeria and shocked the boxing world. Joshua was flown back to the United Kingdom shortly after the accident. He returned home to attend the funerals of his two close friends, whom he described as brothers. Both men had played important roles in his life and career. Kevin “Latz” Ayodele had been a childhood friend, while Sina Ghami worked with Joshua for years as a recovery therapist.

Before the accident, Joshua had big plans. After knocking out Paul in six rounds, he was expected to fight again in March. There were also early discussions about a potential showdown with long-time rival Tyson Fury later in the year. However, those plans were paused following the crash.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently provided an update. Speaking to the boxing scene, he explained that the original schedule included a March fight followed by a bout with Fury in August, but that plan has changed. According to Hearn, Joshua is not yet ready to return to full training camp. The focus remains on rest and gradual preparation.

Hearn suggested that a late summer comeback is possible. He said the team is exploring options for a July return. However, everything depends on Joshua’s physical condition when he resumes full training. Only then will they know if a summer fight is realistic.
