Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry draws backlash after report links his investments to companies run by former “Israeli spies”

Over the years, the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has perfectly balanced on-court presence along with successful business ventures. However, recently, the star guard has found himself in the center of a growing controversy, as he is facing backlash over investing in an Israeli cybersecurity startup, reportedly operated by some Israeli military intelligence groups, that are linked to the war in Gaza.


Despite being one of the top scorers in the league at the age of 37, and averaging 27.3 points, as per ESPN, this season, and delivering some of his exceptional performances with approximately 5 assists, per ESPN, the focus has shifted from his statistics towards the implications of his recently made business decisions.

Stephen Curry under scrutiny over alleged ties to Israeli intelligence-run companies

According to reports by Nate Bear of the "¡Do Not Panic!" website, the investments were made involving U.S. and Israeli startup firms that are reportedly connected to the “Israeli spies”, which are reportedly linked to the ongoing war in Gaza.


“American basketball star Stephen Curry is investing in tech startups run by former IDF operatives who were integral to building Israel's digital architecture of apartheid and genocide”, Bear reported.


"Curry, considered one of the sport's all-time greats and who positions himself as an advocate for social justice, has invested in the companies, both run and staffed by former Israeli spies, through his venture capital firm Penny Jar Capital”, Bear added by writing.

Nate Bear also claimed in his article stating that Stephen Curry has invested tens of millions of dollars in these companies, connecting him to the military operations affecting Palestinians.


"The previously unreported story of Curry's ties to Israel and his connections with Israeli military intelligence underscores once again how pervasive Zionist influences are in the West, and how Zionist networks purposefully cultivate influential cultural figures. Curry's Israeli relationships also highlight the fake progressivism of so many Democrats who decry racism and inequality, then collaborate with one of the most racist, unequal societies on Earth”, Bear wrote.


This has led to questions because Curry is well known for supporting equality and speaking against racism. In 2023, Stephen Curry's wife, Ayesha Curry, advocated for the Children's Relief Fund in Palestine. As of now, nothing is confirmed, but it would be interesting to know how the story develops further, as this is not Curry's first link-up with Israel.
