Who’s the NBA GOAT (the greatest of all time)? Well, fans are divided as both LeBron James and Michael Jordan fit in the equation for all the right reasons. The duo have their solid resumes to be the contenders for this elite position, reaching remarkable career heights. Amid the debate, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade gives his unique take on the matter, sharing a perfect analogy to the never-ending debate.

Dwyane Wade acknowledged that giving a final verdict on the GOAT debate is not a cakewalk, but he gave a perfect analogy to explain his stance on the matter.

"The hotel has 30 floors. We talk about the access key; when I look at the game, I look at who has access to get to the 30th floor. So the 30th-floor access key is winning, so I can't go to 30. Bill Russell's up there, Jordan up there like I may be on floor 25 but I aint at floor 30 but that doesn't mean anything to me just that I don't have access to go to that floor. So if you have not won a ring, it doesn't mean you're not colder than someone who has a ring; it's just that you don't have access to go to the ring floors," Wade shared in the recent episode of his The Why with Dwyane Wade podcast.

Wade believes that it is a privilege game. The star who gets more nods in the conversations surrounding the case is the clear winner in this matter. Of course, LeBron James and Michael Jordan have achieved astonishing stats that many top-notch NBA stars can only dream of, but many analysts, including NBA legend and Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, recently asserted that players like Stephen Curry should be included in the GOAT conversation.

Wade distinguished the GOAT as generational. In a previous chat with Complex, the Hall of Famer said: "I like to look at it like this: when it comes to the greats or the GOAT conversation, our minds are triggered to see just 'one' at these positions. We see one Michael Jordan, and that's our GOAT because that's the era we grew up in – but then you have Kobe Bryant at the same position that could very well be a GOAT in his own right, but he's behind Michael Jordan in a lot of eyes – then you have the next guy, and the next guy, etc. It's a long list of guys to talk about."

Regardless, the GOAT debate will not end anytime soon, as fans are far from reaching their unified consensus about the same. Be it James of Jordan, one thing is clear that both the legends have contributed a ton to the league’s popularity. As for Wade, he previously shared that he does not care about being excluded from the elite list of two legends.
