NEW DELHI: Lauri Markkanen delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 31 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, leading the Utah Jazz to a 130-118 victory over the struggling San Antonio Spurs. The win marked the Jazz's season-best third consecutive victory and their sixth in the last eight games. Meanwhile, the Spurs extended their losing streak to five games and suffered their 23rd defeat in the past 24 contests.

The Jazz initially faced a 15-point deficit in the opening period, but they managed to respond with a 10-0 run, cutting the Spurs' lead to 32-27 by the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, Utah took control, and Lauri Markkanen's bank shot just before halftime gave them a 64-60 advantage.

The game remained competitive in the third quarter, with the Spurs narrowing the gap to 100-93 heading into the final period. However, the Jazz seized control in the fourth quarter, and Markkanen's impressive performance, including four 3-pointers, played a crucial role. Jordan Clarkson contributed 24 points, and Collin Sexton added 20 for the Jazz.

For the Spurs, Keldon Johnson led the scoring with 26 points off the bench, and Devin Vassell contributed 22 points. Despite their efforts, the Spurs couldn't overcome the Jazz's fourth-quarter surge and suffered another defeat in a challenging season.

The Jazz's victory solidifies their positive momentum, while the Spurs continue to face struggles in the ongoing NBA season.
