Both Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III have been part of trade conversations for some time now. Sources told ClutchPoints that the team began listening to offers before last season’s trade deadline. That approach hasn’t changed, and both players remain available as Portland weighs its next steps.
“Much like Boston, the Blazers will continue to navigate the offseason with open arms regarding further trade discussions. Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III have been made available in trade talks dating back to before this past season's trade deadline, sources said,” via Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
In the 2024-25 season, Robert Williams III was averaging 5.8 points per game, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and a 64.1 field goal percentage.
Ayton, on the other hand, has a better average than Williams. Ayton was averaging 14.4 points per game, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 56.6 field goal percentage.
Trail Blazers have recently surprised the NBA world after acquiring Jrue Holiday in a trade with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics, fresh off their record 18th NBA championship, will receive Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks in return.
