In 2021, when Gabrielle Union released her memoir, she opened up about exactly what she felt at that point.
In her memoir, Gabrielle Union wrote, "In 2013, before we were married, Dwyane had a baby with another woman. It should go without saying that we were not in a good place in our relationship at the time that child was conceived.”
She added, "To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience. There are people - strangers who I will never meet - who have been upset that I have not previously talked about that trauma.”
Gabrielle Union penned, “I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy I am not sure I have them now. But truth matters."
In 2023, Dwyane Wade opened up about this incident on Shannon Sharpe’s popular podcast, Club Shay Shay, where he reiterated that he never betrayed Gabrielle Union’s trust and all of these things happened when they were on a break.
The couple sorted out their differences and a month after Dwyane Wade and the other woman welcomed their son, Xavier, the NBA legend and Gabrielle Union got engaged in December 2013.
By 2014, the couple had tied the knot and continue to be in a happy, healthy and strong marriage. Even after Dwyane Wade’s recent struggle against cancer, the couple have come out of it together.
