After disparaging the player's performance, the email turned into a threat against them both.

The email titled "F*** You" reads:

"Your piece of f***in sh*t husband sucks to f***n bad can't even get 1o points is pathetic. I hope you both die in a car crash dumb b*tch."




She described the harassment as a result of "the negative effects of sports betting," highlighting the growing resentment of sportsmen and their families over lost income.

However, athletes are not liable for specific wagers made by spectators. Player stats, whether they are five points or fifty, remain a component of the competition and do not constitute a wagering agreement. As betting grows more ingrained in broadcasts and fan interaction, the event reignited debate over the lines separating fandom from abuse.

In response, Nina, a certified marital and family therapist and former collegiate basketball player, blamed sports gambling as the primary culprit in her Instagram story. Westbrook said:

"The negative effects of sports betting.. Brings out the worst in ppl smh."
