HYDERABAD: There is no better day foraspiring Test cricketers than to wake up and be told that they have made theteam. Whether Doug Bollinger and Peter Siddle fully realize their dream and getto don the 'baggy green' during Australia's tour of India remains to be seen, but the left-arm quick Bollinger from New South Wales and right-arm fast mediumbowler Siddle from Victoria are fully aware that they are one little step closerto representing Australia in Tests as they figure in the Ricky Ponting-led15-member squad named on Friday.
The duo was here as part of theAustralia 'A' team for a two-match series of three-day games, both of whichended in a draw, and remained with the team for the tri-series to be contestedby the 'A' teams of India, Australia and New Zealand from September15.
"It's great to be in the Australian team, especially on a tour ofIndia. You have got to step up and face these challenges. As a cricketer youmust adapt to the conditions in order to be a better bowler. I don't believethat it will be a make-or-break trip for me personally because I want to makesomething out of it," said 27-year old Bollinger.
Siddle is stillrecovering from the 'shock' of breaking into the squad. "I am here with theAustralia 'A' squad. And this national call is perhaps the most decisive momentof my career. I am ready for the challenge."
