CHANDIGARH: Mohali Cricket Association (MCA) defeated APJ Kharar by four wickets in the under-16 cricket tournament played at DAV Sector 8 ground.
After winning the toss, APJ Kharar decided to bat first but its batsman were found struggling before some sharp bowling attack from MCA. Kharar team lost two quick wickets at the score of 25, but fine batting display by Sahil Sharma helped the team to get good total in the end.
Sahil Sharma played a brave knock of 51 runs and he was the lone batsman to who stood against the Mohali attack and his effort helped APJ Kharar to reach at the total score of 154 all out in 45.3 overs.
It was the fine bowling display by Taranpreet Singh Bunny for MCA as he scalped three wickets of Kharar team by giving just 39 runs in his spell. Bunny received good support of Amish Sidhu from other end, who got two wickets by conceding just 25 runs.
Even the MCA was found struggling when chasing the target of 154 and it lost four wickets at the score of 45. When it seemed that team would be bundled out cheaply, Harsroop Singh along with
Ramandeep Singh took MCA near the target and contributed with 47 and 28 runs respectively. Sahil Sharma, who earlier shone with his bat, also got three wickets.
