In recent weeks, the retired quarterback found himself at the center of renewed speculation after a single Instagram story reignited public curiosity about how he is handling life after his divorce from Gisele Bundchen. Brady paired the images with Logic’s “1-800-273-8255,” a track strongly linked to emotional struggle and mental health awareness. Fans immediately began reading between the lines. Was it grief. James J. Sexton did not mince words when asked about Brady’s emotional state. “I find it hard to believe that he’d be having a hard time getting laid,” Sexton said, quickly dismissing the idea that Brady was spiraling. Instead, he suggested the post may have been more about perception than pain.



“Sometimes, that’s like a cry for sympathy and attention. Where I think someone is like they want to be the dumped as opposed to the dumper,” he explained. Sexton acknowledged that divorce itself can sting deeply, calling it “a very human experience…,” but he remained puzzled by the intent behind Brady’s message.

“What is it he wants us to feel? Does he want us to feel badly for him… or does he want us to feel angry at her, for her betrayal of him, and sort of make him more victim-like?” Sexton asked.

That framing felt out of character. Sexton himself admitted as much. “He doesn’t strike me as someone who is a particularly victimhood kind of a guy. You can’t be a quarterback at that level and not be a born leader… not be someone who’s really good at managing people and managing their talent.”

Even Sexton seemed unsure where to land. “I’m not quite sure what he is trying to say or do in this post,” he said, later offering one final possibility. “Unless he sees this as a form of performance art, in which case it’s like, okay, just project whatever you want to on this.”

For now, Brady has stayed silent. That silence keeps the questions alive and ensures the conversation continues.
