The latest twist started after John Ziegler posted his theory on X. He suggested Dianna Russini’s husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, may have kept older footage private for years before releasing it strategically after the Arizona resort photos surfaced in 2026.


“What if… Her husband has been sitting on the 2020 & 2021 footage,” Ziegler wrote on X, before claiming the material could have been released “piece by piece as part of a brilliantly evil plot for maximum revenge.”


His post gained traction fast because it connected several viral moments from the last month. The original controversy exploded in April after photos of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini together at an Arizona resort circulated online. Soon after, Russini stepped down from her role at The Athletic while the company reportedly launched an internal investigation into the situation.


Then came another resurfaced clip earlier this week. That video showed Dianna Russini during a Barstool Sports appearance from June 2021. Mike Vrabel’s reaction in the interview also went viral because of Russini’s NSFW comments during the segment.


The fresh boat footage added another layer because Russini appeared visibly pregnant at the time. She and Goldschmidt married in September 2020 and now share two children. Vrabel has been married to his wife Jennifer since 1999, and the couple has two sons.


Despite the nonstop speculation, neither Mike Vrabel nor Dianna Russini has commented on Ziegler’s latest claims. There is also no public evidence supporting his theory beyond the resurfaced videos and photos already circulating online.


Still, the story continues to dominate NFL headlines because of Vrabel’s position with the New England Patriots. The veteran coach led New England to the Super Bowl last season, only to lose to the Seattle Seahawks, which keeps his name firmly in the public spotlight, while the controversy continues to grow online.
