Even while injured, Crosby’s performance stood out. He finished the 2025 season with 10 sacks and a career high 28 tackles for loss. Those numbers continued a long stretch of elite production that has made him one of the most disruptive defenders in the NFL and a leader inside the Raiders’ locker room.
Raiders general manager John Spytek recently spoke about Crosby’s situation and his importance to the team. While he did not label Crosby untouchable, his comments showed clear respect for the player. "I've had the opportunity in the last several weeks to spend a lot of time with Maxx, and I think it's been well documented that he didn't love the idea of not playing football ... So, I love Maxx. He embodies what a Raider is."
Still, trade rumors have followed. In December, multiple teams were rumored to be monitoring Crosby’s situation, including the Bills, Bears, Buccaneers, and Cowboys. With the Raiders facing major changes after a tough 2025 season, Crosby’s recovery timeline and contract status are now key offseason storylines.
