Rondale Moore had faced difficult seasons before his death. He missed the entire 2024 and 2025 NFL seasons because of consecutive knee injuries. At the time, he was part of the Minnesota Vikings organisation. He previously played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Atlanta Falcons.
Before the NFL, Moore made his mark at New Albany High School. He later transferred to Trinity High School in Louisville and went on to win a state football title. He also won a state basketball championship in 2016.
At Purdue in 2018, he exploded onto the national stage. As a freshman, he recorded 114 receptions for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns. He earned first-team All-American honours that year. Following his death, many NFL players, including J.J. Watt, Maxx Crosby, and A.J. Brown, shared heartfelt tributes to the former wide receiver.
His obituary, released by Newcomer Funeral Home on Feb. 24, called him “an amazing athlete” and highlighted his work at youth football camps and food drives in New Albany. It reads, "Rondale wanted to encourage the youth and took time to contribute to local football camps. Not only did he support the next generation of athletes, but he also helped the less fortunate through food drives for the homeless. His impact in New Albany was far-reaching,”
