Saquon Barkley did not need a game to grab attention this time. During a light practice at the 2026 Fanatics Flag Football Classic, the Philadelphia Eagles star running back became the center of a viral moment. A short clip shared by the Eagles showed Barkley smoothly changing direction and leaving Logan Paul behind on a simple move. It looked easy for him, but Paul clearly struggled to keep up.
Soon after, another video shared by Fanatics added more buzz. This time, it was not just about the move. Barkley noticed something and decided to ask about it right there on the field. The short exchange quickly spread online and got fans talking again, especially with the ongoing debate around athletes and entertainers.
Saquon Barkley questions Logan Paul’s ankle braces after viral practice moment at Fanatics Flag Football Classic
In the second clip, Saquon Barkley walked up to Logan Paul and pointed at his ankles. He asked, “What’s with the ankle brace? Ankle bracelet, bro?”
Logan Paul did not hesitate to respond. He said, “Bro, I roll my ankles easy. My ankles are cooked.”
The moment felt casual, but fans picked up on it quickly. Barkley also shared that he only uses ankle braces on game day, not during practice. That small detail added more weight to the conversation, as people compared how both approach the game.
This comes at a time when former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has already raised questions about whether WWE performers should be seen the same as traditional athletes. Logan Paul had earlier pushed back on that idea and said he can match top NFL players in athletic ability.
The event itself has also seen changes. The Fanatics Flag Football Classic was first planned for Saudi Arabia but was later moved to BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. It features three teams, including the U.S. men’s national flag football team. The other two are Founders FFC, led by Tom Brady and Jalen Hurts, and Wildcats FFC, captained by Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels.
Saquon Barkley gets support as Philadelphia Eagles sign Dameon Pierce to strengthen running back depth for 2026 season
While Saquon Barkley made headlines on the field, the Philadelphia Eagles made a key move off it. The team signed running back Dameon Pierce to a one-year deal ahead of the 2026 season.
NFL insider Jeff McLane reported the update, saying, “Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year deal with RB Dameon Pierce.” He also noted that the 25-year-old still has “enough tread on the tires for the Eagles.”
Dameon Pierce first made his mark with the Houston Texans, where he rushed for 939 yards as a rookie and had more than 1,100 total yards. But his role became smaller over the next two seasons, and he later had a short stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaking about that phase, Pierce said, “It sucks,” while making it clear he is ready to do whatever his new team asks.
The Eagles may also use him on special teams. Jeff McLane pointed out that Pierce’s kick return ability could be important, especially after his 98-yard return touchdown in 2023. This signing gives Philadelphia a solid backup option behind Barkley, with the added benefit of versatility going into the new season.
