Shannon Sharpe allegedly made disturbing threats in leaked call with young model

Shannon Sharpe, the NFL legend, is still dealing with the embarrassment and the trolling that followed after his sexual assault lawsuit went public earlier this year. Shannon Sharpe was sued for a whopping $50 million after a young model accused him of threatening her and sexually assaulting her multiple times. The lawsuit was later settled for $20 million but the details are pretty grim.

Shannon Sharpe allegedly threatened to choke the model and called himself a “big black guy”

In April 2025, days after Shannon Sharpe was sued for $50 million, the young model’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, leaked a recording of a phone call between the two of them.



The phone call painted a pretty shocking picture of what was happening behind closed doors and in Shannon Sharpe’s controversial relationship with the young woman.

The clip showed that the two were talking about Shannon Sharpe going to Los Angeles, when suddenly the conversation turned into the young model telling him that she does not want to be choked.

To this, Shannon Sharpe replied, “I might choke you in public”. The NFL legend also added, “Big black guy chokes small white woman.”

As per the court documents which was accessed by NBC Sports, the young woman has also alleged Shannon Sharpe threatened her many times.

The lawsuit stated, “Sharpe flew into fits of anger when Plaintiff noted his infidelity to their relationship, or called him out about his extraneous activities…”

The lawsuit added, “Sharpe even figured out how to get into Doe’s apartment complex without her permission.”

Shannon Sharpe remained firm that the sexual encounters with the model was “consensual”

However, Shannon Sharpe and his legal team led by his lawyer Lanny J. Davis stayed firm on how this was a “trap” and the NFL legend was innocent since it was a “consensual” relationship.

Shannon Sharpe’s lawyer stated, “What she does on was for money and role playing and virtual fantasy with money who pay her…It was a fact that the plaintiff started to charge Mr. Sharpe money. This is who she is by the facts. I’m just describing that she’s on and charges people money to do role-playing.”

The lawsuit was settled when Shannon Sharpe paid the young woman $20 million in July 2025.
