“Until you look at that bill”: Travis Kelce's ex Kayla Nicole calls out the hidden financial weight of egg freezing in new viral interview

Popular NFL influencer Kayla Nicole recently discussed egg freezing during her appearance on the Jan. 9 episode of the “Pour Minds” podcast, hosted by Lex P and Drea Nicole. For women, egg freezing is often talked about as a modern solution for those who want more time before starting a family. However, Nicole expressed her displeasure about that narrative and gave a compelling argument.

Nicole shared why the idea sounds appealing on paper but feels far less realistic once the expenditure and the hustle to get it done are considered. She opened uo about how it does not become feasible when one considers the cost of living nowadays. At 34, Nicole is navigating the same questions many women face and concludes that a big decision like that is neither simple nor universally accessible.

The financial reality behind a choice often sold as effortless

When asked whether freezing eggs is actually worth it, Nicole pointed out that freezing eggs is something that is financially draining, and not everyone can do it. She said, “Something that is not talked about enough is the financial commitment that you have to make. You have to pay for them eggs to stay frozen.”


Lex P then joked about the ongoing storage fees, saying, “Oh, you gotta pay rent? Send them upstairs with the other ones...Egg rent is nuts. Give me my eggs. I'll keep them.” While presented as a joke, Lex P’s points are rooted in reality, as egg freezing is not a one-time cost, as it has to be spent consistently over time to keep the eggs frozen.

Nicole explained why the casual advice to “just freeze your eggs” often feels disconnected from reality. She explained, “Everybody's like, well, just freeze your eggs. I got to pay rent. I have a car now. I have health insurance. I have dental insurance.” She also admitted that she sometimes questions whether egg freezing is even part of her path, even though the idea of it sounds exciting.

“Sometimes my conversation with God is like, I need you to give me a sign that you want me to freeze these eggs right now… But I love the idea of it. It sounds sexy.” At the end, Drea Nicole summarized the whole thing as an appealing idea, “until you look at that bill." The popular influencer also reacted humorously to a hilarious comment made by Lex P related to the situation later on her Instagram.
