As was announced recently, Super Bowl LX will open with a live musical ceremony led by the legendary rock band.

Scheduled to be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Green Day’s opening ceremony performance is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2026. Their set will start at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time, while fans in other parts of the United States can watch the broadcast at 5:00 p.m. Central Time and 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The ceremony will be airing live on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, and Universo, making it easy for fans to watch on television or streaming platforms.

The ceremony is part of the official Super Bowl week festivities and serves as the first major musical event tied to Super Bowl LX. Band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool are expected to perform a mix of their most popular songs, as they connect different generations of fans through their banger discography. Armstrong said in an official statement, “We're super excited to kick off Super Bowl 60 in our own backyard. We are honored to welcome the MVPs who have shaped the sport and open the night for fans around the world.” NFL senior director of events and presentations Tim Tubito echoed that sentiment, saying, “Celebrating 60 years of Super Bowl history with Green Day as the hometown band is an incredibly powerful way to kick off Super Bowl LX.”

Following the opening ceremony, fans can also look forward to additional pregame performances from artists including Brandi Carlile, Coco Jones, and Charlie Puth. Together, these exciting performances promise a strong and memorable start to one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
