NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed on NBC's Today show that pop star
Taylor Swift, who recently got engaged to Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce, might perform at the upcoming Super Bowl. The announcement came on Wednesday, a day before the NFL season opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
"We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent and obviously she would be welcome any time," Goodell stated during the interview.
When pressed about Swift's potential Super Bowl appearance, Goodell remained noncommittal. "I can't tell you anything about it. It's a maybe," he said.
Goodell mentioned he was awaiting input from Jay-Z regarding the Super Bowl halftime show lineup. Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, has been producing the show in partnership with the NFL since 2019.
The engagement of Swift and Kelce has added excitement to the NFL season's buildup, creating a notable cultural intersection between NFL fans and Swift's dedicated following.
The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking to return to the Super Bowl after the Eagles prevented them from securing their third consecutive championship in February.
The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 8 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
