Former TNA head Scott D'Amore announces signing of Ex-WWE Broadcaster for Maple Leaf Pro

Even after parting ways with TNA, Scott D'Amore isn't slowing down in his quest to reshape the pro wrestling landscape. In a bold move that harks back to the golden era of grappling, D'Amore has revived the historic "Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling," a promotion with roots dating back to the 1930s. In a recent chat on "INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet," D'Amore spilled the beans on one of his exciting signings, hinting at a new chapter in wrestling history.

Scott D'Amore opens up about Mauro Ranallo

In the interview, D'Amore revealed that Mauro Ranallo, the former commentator for "WWE NXT" and "SmackDown," will be the voice of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. "I mean, he’s the man, and Mauro has a true passion for wrestling," D'Amore declared. He also reminisced about their first meeting 25 years ago in Stampede Wrestling. "I was coming in as a heel to feud with Sabu. And he was the 20-21-year-old kid who was doing the play-by-play with Bad News Brown, and we connected then over the years," D'Amore shared.

D'Amore also praised Ranallo's impact on combat sports announcing, "He loves wrestling. He's the best. You turned on Showtime for any big boxing fight, or you turned on to watch a lot of the big MMA fights with Pride and everything, Mauro is that voice." (source credit: Wrestling INC)
