Hulk Hogan was one of the most exceptional yet controversial figures of the professional wrestling industry, who tragically passed away on July 24, 2025. The former
WWE Champion reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital after a 911 call on Thursday, but was unresponsive upon arrival. Not only Hulkster, but popular icon Ozzy Osbourne also left for the heavenly abode this week. However, unknown to many, one of Hogan's biggest fans, Roddy, also lost his life just days before his hero died.
Roddy Hogan was one of Hulk Hogan's biggest fans, who died days before his passing
During Hulk Hogan's prime as an in-ring performer, Eric Servis, who became popular as Roddy Hogan, was one of his biggest fans, who attended multiple wrestling shows in the 1990s and 2000s to see his hero perform in the ring. He used to don Hogan's red and yellow colors, gear, bandana and even had Hogan's iconic mustache. This led to Roddy bearing a striking resemblance to Hogan, which often confused fans about who the real wrestler was.
Unfortunately, Roddy Hogan passed away in the same week as his inspiration, Hulk Hogan. The news was confirmed by the Cauliflower Alley Club, which hosts gatherings of longtime wrestling fans, on Monday, July 21. They credited him as one of their regular attendees at the reunion events held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
While the fan and hero might be gone, their bond and appearances together were something special. Over the years, Roddy and Hulk Hogan formed a close friendship. They were spotted together on multiple occasions, and The Hulkster used to praise him for his loyalty and fandom numerous times. This led to Roddy also gaining recognition among the fans too.
