For the first time in history,
WWE is preparing to take WrestleMania outside of North America. Multiple reports now point to
Saudi Arabia as the confirmed host of WrestleMania 43 in 2027, marking a landmark moment in the company’s global expansion. While the announcement hasn’t been formally made by WWE, sources close to the situation insist it’s already a done deal.
Turki Al-Sheikh hints at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia
The speculation gained traction after Turki Al-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s Minister and Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, appeared on Snapchat this week and addressed the subject directly. In a rough translation of his comments, he stated: “WrestleMania has been announced, for the first time outside of America, WrestleMania in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2027.”
An Arabic press release briefly went live before being pulled, fueling further buzz. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted, “The story is 100% legitimate and an announcement is coming very soon.” The sudden slip-up left fans buzzing, with insiders suggesting the reveal was mistakenly sent ahead of schedule.
The move follows years of speculation. WWE and Saudi Arabia signed a major partnership in 2018, later extended to bring two Premium Live Events to the Kingdom annually.
That relationship has already produced high-profile shows like Crown Jewel and, more recently, the historic announcement that Riyadh will host the 2026 Royal Rumble.
WWE’s global push and TKO’s strategy
Beyond the spectacle, WrestleMania 43’s placement highlights a new strategy under WWE’s parent company, TKO Group. Executives have been open about pursuing site fees in the same style as Formula 1, inviting cities and nations into bidding wars for WWE’s marquee events. At a recent investor event, TKO President Mark Shapiro was blunt about the model: “Most important to me is cash. You know, cash. Cash kills.”
By securing WrestleMania 43, Saudi Arabia strengthens its growing role in global sports entertainment. With the 2026 Royal Rumble and now the company’s biggest annual show confirmed within a 14-month window, WWE is locking its most significant properties into the Kingdom. Fans worldwide now wait for WWE’s official confirmation, but the stage already seems set for a historic spectacle in 2027.
