Nintendo has confirmed the release date for Splatoon Raiders for the Switch 2 console. A new trailer has outlined the launch date, gameplay details, and features of the upcoming single-player-focused action shooter. The game is set to launch on July 23 for the Nintendo Switch 2, nearly a year after its initial reveal. Positioned as a spin-off in the Splatoon series, the title introduces a new adventure set across the Spirhalite Islands, where players take on the role of a mechanic exploring the region with the Deep Cut trio: Frye, Shiver, and Big Man. The announcement also confirms pricing: the game will cost $50 digitally and $60 for the physical edition. The new trailer highlights the core gameplay loop, focusing on exploration, combat, and loot collection. Players will be able to customise their character’s appearance and loadout before heading into missions.

According to Nintendo, Splatoon Raiders is designed for both long-time players and newcomers. “Splatoon Raiders is a single-player-focused action shooter for Splatoon veterans and newcomers alike. You take on the role of a mechanic embarking on a high-stakes adventure across the mysterious Spirhalite Islands,” the company wrote in a blog post.
The game introduces a mix of mechanical gadgets and ink-based weapons, allowing players to battle enemies known as Salmonids. “Using a variety of mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, you’ll splat scores of enemies called Salmonids, conquer raids and salvage loot on your journey through the one-of-a-kind Splatoon universe,” Nintendo added.Players will also be accompanied by the Deep Cut band, with one member joining missions through a companion bot. “But you won’t be alone – you’ll be working with Frye, Shiver and Big Man, a trio of swashbuckling musicians who make up the splat-tacular band Deep Cut. In fact, one member of the band will raid alongside you in a powerful bot!” the company noted.In addition to its single-player focus, the game will support co-op gameplay, allowing up to three additional players to join online or via local wireless. Nintendo also announced themed amiibo figures featuring the Deep Cut band. These will be sold as a triple pack with interlocking bases designed for display, with pre-orders expected to open soon.Apart from this, Nintendo is reportedly planning to release a remake of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” for the Switch 2 around the festive season, potentially filling the gap ahead of a new 3D Mario title.
