Pramod Sawant

Pramod Sawant is an Indian politician currently serving as the Chief Minister of Goa. He was born on April 24, 1973, in a small village in Goa. Sawant belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been associated with the party since his college days.

Sawant began his political career as a member of the Goa legislative assembly in 2012 when he was elected as a representative of the Sanquelim constituency. He has been re-elected from the same constituency in the 2017 and 2019 assembly elections.

In March 2019, following the sudden demise of Goa's Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Sawant was appointed as the Chief Minister of Goa. Prior to his appointment as Chief Minister, Sawant served as the Speaker of the Goa legislative assembly.

Pramod Sawant was re-elected as the Chief Minister of Goa after the Assembly Elections in 2022.
