BANGALORE: The Suchithra Cinema and Cultural Academy here has organised a festival of actor Vishnuvardhan's films, `Four decades of Vishnuvardhan' from December 15 to 17 and on December 19 at the Academy premises in Banashankari.

Becoming a movie star is perhaps a dream most of us have. After debuting into movies the stars develop into popular faces by delivering continuous hits, and also winning the hearts of the audience for both their on-screen and off-screen persona. But there are stars, who, despite giving their best, disappear from the limelight, leaving an empty place.

Kannada cinema celebrates 'Yajamana's' 25th anniversary with a special re-release on November 7. The beloved blockbuster, featuring the late Vishnuvardhan in a dual role, is being brought back to theatres through a passion project, allowing a new generation to experience its magic. The restored edition will screen in over 150 locations, honoring the film's enduring legacy.

Kannada movies are known for their sentiments, love stories and emotions. Filmmakers invest a lot of time and money but these films don’t survive for a long time. However, here are five Kannada films which managed to run in theatres for more than a year.
