A 15-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his residence at Dhankawdi on Tuesday night.

As the huge gathering of students cheered their class mates on the stage on the second day of 'Baldarbar', they were also being exposed to some important lessons on life and society.

The life and thoughts of pro-independence activist and Indian politician Veer Sawarkar were brought to life on Monday evening at Sai Sabhagruha, Shankar Nagar. Titled ‘Mrutyunjay Sawarkar’, a mono-act play was presented by cultural organization Sanskar Bharti, and the role of Sawarkar was enacted by anil palkar.

Observing that there is absolutely no evidence that the accused was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and that injured witnesses had not identified him, a sessions court acquitted a man 14 years after he was charged with driving a car in a drowsy state and ramming into people waiting near the ST bus stand in Sion, killing one and injuring 22 persons. The accused was 26 years old at the time of the incident.
