As counting trends solidify in Assam, the BJP is poised for a third consecutive term, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma leading the charge. While the Congress has opened leads in several constituencies, the ruling party and its allies appear set for victory. Other parties like AIUDF and Raijor Dal have secured leads in a few seats.

The Congress party has released its third list of 22 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, bringing their total declared seats to 87. The opposition bloc, including alliance partners, has announced candidates for 102 seats. Three seats remain a point of contention between Congress and Raijor Dal.

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has announced candidates for 26 assembly seats, with half being Muslim nominees. Notably, two suspended AIUDF MLAs joined AGP and secured tickets.
