Avala Tower is a telecommunication and observation tower in Belgrade. Located on Mount Avala, It is the tallest tower not only in Belgrade or Serbia, but in the entire Balkan region. Initially constructed in 1964, Avala Tower was destroyed on 29 April 1999 in the NATO bombings. The new tower was erected in the same place in 2010, marking the 11th anniversary of bombing of Serbia. Avala Towers represents the modernity and development of Serbia. Considered a pride of Belgrade, Avala Tower stands tall at 200 m, and towers over the Belgrade skyline. The glass covered observation deck situated on the top of Avala Tower offers breathtaking panorama of Belgrade and its surrounding region dotted with hills and rivers.
