Langkawi Cable Car

If there’s one thing that tops most lists of things to do in Langkawi, it’s the cable car ride. It is billed as Langkawi’s premier attraction because the SkyCab is the world’s steepest cable car ride. The queue can get really long, so it is advisable to reach early. It takes 20 minutes and ends at the top of the island’s second highest mountaintop. The wobbly ride is usually followed by a long wait for the clouds to clear at the top—yet it is worth it. Once the clouds clear up, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of lush tropical forests, turquoise water, and many of Langkawi's 99 islands.
However the SkyCab isn’t just about the cable car ride. The complex is also home to a number of other attractions. There is an immersive cinema, tickets for which are included in the cost of the cable car ride. The Oriental Village, which comprises Asian restaurants and shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and knick-knacks, is also there for tourists’ perusal. It’s easy to spend half a day exploring the entire complex.
